I had needed to redesign my site and get a blog going for sometime. I have made several sites using Wordpress so this time I wanted to try another CMS. Textpattern was an option but in the end I went with ExpressionEngine which recently seemed to be getting a fair bit of exposure.

Highlight navigation in ExpressionEngine
Just a quick one to show how I highlight the navigation so that the user knows what section they are in. I use the URL segment variables to highlight the navigation.

I redesigned this site in November, which gave me the chance to use ExpressionEngine. I quickly grow bored of the things I do for myself so I fancied another redesign and this time around I wanted to use HTML5 and see what it was all the fuss was about.
